Eccles Health Sciences Library
Eccles Health Sciences Library,
The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) offers extensive resources and services to support education, research, and patient care. It is located east of the School of Medicine on the university's health sciences campus.
Eccles Library's assets include thousands of electronic journals, research databases, and interlibrary loan services. Its faculty and staff support learning and research through custom classes, consultations, and systematic review evidence synthesis. Librarians work with University of Utah Hospital clinical teams to provide curated, relevant evidence packets to support evidence-based decision making for patient care. They also provide essential information services to patients during rounds.
Eccles Library serves as the Regional Medical Library (RML) for the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), which serves nine states from the Canadian to the Mexican border. EHSL is also home to the NNLM's National Training Office, which serves the training coordination needs for all RMLs, Offices & Centers across the country.
The library is recognized locally and nationally as a leader of intellectual exploration and as a catalyst for innovative discovery. It hosts digital collections and publishing platforms including NOVEL, the Neuro-Ophthalmology Virtual Education Library, and UtahDERM, an open-access dermatology education resource. The library supports experiential learning through the assistance of technology such as virtual reality and 3D printing.
We look forward to hearing from you and partnering in your educational, research, administrative or patient care endeavors. Make us your most trusted source of quality health information!
