Information
We are excited to announce the second annual University of Utah IT Rendezvous! This event will be held once again at the S.J. Quinney College of Law on campus and take place on Tuesday, September 15th.
If you didn't attend last year, here's our inspiration – "IT Rendezvous" refers to the adventurous and trailblazing people of the early 1800s in the West who gathered together for business, knowledge transfer, and general revelry. We want this event to be much more than just learning skills; it's about getting to know each other, sharing knowledge and passions, building community, and more.
This conference is open to University of Utah IT from any academic or non-academic entity. You must be an employee of the University of Utah or UEN to attend.
Call for Speakers
To kick this process off, we are putting out a call for speakers. This event works because our community steps up to share their individual knowledge with their peers – and you all have something to contribute! This event is not about perfect public eloquence. You do not need any prior presentation experience to speak! Almost all of our speakers at last year’s IT Rendezvous had never presented in this way before. So please – if you would like to kindly volunteer your time and energy to help make this event happen, submit your application by completing this year's speaker application form.
The speaker application form will be open through April 30th, 2026. We will review applications throughout the month of may and notify speakers by June 1st, 2026.
Teams Channel
Join the IT Rendezvous Teams channel, where you can meet, get to know, and chat with other attendees and the organizers.
Capture the Flag
We would also like to ask if anyone has experience running a Capture the Flag workshop before, potentially using something like CTFD. If you have any experience running this kind of thing, please reach out to a member of the Organizing Committee (listed below)!
Organizing Committee
- James Reynolds (School of Biological Sciences, College of Science)
- Bryce Fox (Enterprise IT Architecture, Office of CTO)
- Joe Bradford (Undergraduate Studies)
- Ian Ferguson (Law)
- Benjamin Holt (Math, College of Science)
2025 Recordings
Lastly, with apologies for the delay, we are pleased to announce that the available videos from last year are now posted in Box folder! (Note that you must be affiliated with the University of Utah and log in through the University's Box access to view the folder.) Thank you again to all of the speakers who made this happen as well as all the attendees who came to participate in this great event.
